In this week’s address President Obama calls on Congress to pass more legislation that will help get Americans back to work. That’s not going to happen, because Republicans in the House have no interest in doing anything positive that would help the president’s re-election chances.
It should be noted however that Congress (including the Republican House) did at least pass legislation that will keep student loan rates from doubling and re-authorizing the highway bill that will keep construction workers working. They do deserve some credit for that, although it’s not going to make things better; it’s just going to keep things from getting a lot worse.
I’m heading to the beach with the family for five or six hours of solar absorption.
