Cheering for the Underdog here (Nimblebit vs. Zynga)

This image is just all kinds of awesome, and as a former owner of a small 3-person game development studio, I am very much hoping that many, many people see this and decide to buy the Nimblebit version of Tiny Tower.

There’s a lot of hand-wringing within the industry that zynga is destroying all our business models, and I’ve always thought that was crap.  They found a good way to sell games to casual users, something that I remember as being the Holy Grail back when I was at SOE and Kelly Flock was running the joint.  I don’t begrudge them their success at figuring out what everyone else was also trying to do.

But then you look at this image and you’re like, geez, guys.  Developing a business model that makes you lots and lots of money?  Cool.  Using that money to basically release carbon copies of other, smaller studios’ products with better graphics?  Sigh.
