New Obama ad about the decision to kill bin Laden

What I love about this ad is how angry it makes conservatives. They just can’t handle the fact that their guy, Obama’s “predecessor who must not be named,” had 7 years after 9/11 to get bin Laden and failed, miserably. Obama got the job done.

John McCain is now saying that Obama pointing out that he killed bin Laden and that Mitt Romney would have done something differently is using 9/11 to divide America, or something. The guy who was nominated at this convention:

Republican National Convention 2008

Yeah, um, he says the Democrats are misusing 9/11. Okay.

To be clear, it is absolutely proper for President Obama to present evidence of competence when asking to be re-elected. And it is absolutely proper to show a clear distinction between himself and Mitt Romney on this issue. Mitt Romney criticized Obama in 2007 when he said he would go into Pakistan to get bin Laden. Mitt Romney said he wouldn’t do it. That’s a valid consideration and should be raised.

Also, whenever Republicans are whining about tone, they know they’re losing.

    1. Is it gloating?

I think it’s making a case for competence. What is he supposed to do? Should he say, “Well, this one time I made a really important and hard decision, but I can’t say what it is, because people might think it was gloating. Trust me though. It was really a tough decision.”

Disagree?
