What could go wrong?

As some of you know, I grew up in a very conservative Christian home, and I graduated from a small Christian high school (BCHS) and a small Christian college (PLNU). One of my friends from high school is pretty active as a conservative Tea Party activist and we often argue good-naturedly with each other on the Facebook machine. One of her many activities is teaching a Bible class at a conservative Christian high school near here.

Last week, she sent me a message asking me to come talk to her students about my “conversion” from conservatism to godless liberalism. (She didn’t say “godless,” but it was implied.) I’m supposed to talk for 5-to-10 minutes and then the students will then ask me questions, of which I assume, “why do you hate America?” will always be just under the surface.

I’m kidding. My friend assures me the class is very respectful and it will be a good discussion, and I believe her. She even promised they would be “fair and balanced,” and I managed not to have an aneurysm.

So… that’s happening today. Warning: sometimes weird things may happen when you start blogging. I’ll report back afterwards.
